The Game’s Essence

Electro Fracture is a multi-type and multi-mode game. At its core, it’s an RPG sci-fi horror FPS combat game, but that’s just the beginning. The game also includes hacking mechanics and third-person logic challenges, creating a blend of genres that feels both fresh and engaging.

The true strength of Electro Fracture lies in its variety of play modes:

  • A quick battle mode, where players can jump into action with a single click.
  • A rich story mode, complete with carefully crafted dialogues, events, quests and a compelling plot.
  • And a sandbox mode, a sprawling lunapark of creativity and chaos where players can find endless ways to explore and interact.

Electro Fracture embraces both horror and humor. It’s not meant to be overly serious; instead, it playfully winks at fans of movies and literature, blending genres with a sense of fun and irony.

A Unique Vision

This game isn’t a love letter to any particular genre—it’s an ambitious attempt to define its own. Electro Fracture is set within the Paradigm Worlds universe, a sprawling, imaginative setting I first created for a popular mod for Mount & Blade: Warband.

The mod, Paradigm Worlds, has over 70,000 downloads on ModDB alone, with additional players on Steam. Considering that it requires a specific game to play, this is a number I’m incredibly proud of.

Electro Fracture is the smallest—though not least ambitious—project among five that aim to transfer the Paradigm Worlds universe into Unreal Engine.

Gameplay Layers

On the surface, Electro Fracture might look like a straightforward sci-fi RPG. But if you give it time, it reveals a deeper connection—a world that feels alive. NPCs aren’t as complex as in the mod, but the game’s design ensures that it’s not overwhelming.

  • Learning Curve: The game is casual-friendly with a subtle learning curve.
  • Visual Style: Inspired by impressionist art, I use textures and materials more as a painter would, aiming for an expressive, atmospheric style rather than hyper-realistic detail.

Electro Fracture also leverages Unreal Engine’s incredible tools to offer a distinct aesthetic and gameplay experience.

Features and Mechanics

The game includes:

  • Story Mode: Two large maps—a sci-fi biome and a horror-flesh setting—plus infinite “dimension” worlds composed of smaller, procedurally generated levels. These dimensions add endless replayability, with surprises and challenges at every turn.
  • JRPG System: Players can lead a party of up to three creatures, including orcs, cyborgs, skeletons and mutants, with more races planned. (Over dozen of characters to choose as companions)
  • Customization and Player Control: Players can design battles, adjust settings, and explore how the JRPG system interacts with other features.

Randomization, a hallmark of the original mod, ensures that you never know what’s lurking behind the next corner—a treasure chest or a deadly cyborg predator.

Collaboration and Growth

As an independent creator, I rely on both Epic’s resources and third-party assets. Unreal Engine’s free assets and monthly giveaways have been an invaluable foundation for my work. Additionally, I’ve purchased assets from talented creators, blending them into my unique vision for the Paradigm Worlds universe.

While I lack a formal programming background, I’ve taught myself Unreal Engine through tutorials and reverse engineering. This approach lets me focus on creative design and gameplay mechanics rather than building everything from scratch.

Community and Feedback

The Paradigm Worlds community has always played a significant role in shaping its direction. I plan to continue this tradition by gathering feedback and organizing polls to decide on future features. For example, I’m already planning to add a spacecraft arcade module, which I believe will enrich gameplay.

Players’ voices matter. Whether you’re a fan of the original mod or new to the universe, your opinions and ideas are welcome.

The Future: Project Babel

Electro Fracture is just one piece of a larger puzzle. The ultimate goal is Project Babel, a massive undertaking that combines the experiences of five distinct games into one unified, multiplayer hub. It’s a utopian vision—a virtual world where players can explore endless diversity and possibility.

Personal Background

I’ve worn many hats over the years:

  • A writer of children’s fairy tales.
  • A journalist.
  • A master’s graduate in art from the Poznan Academy.
  • A photographer and instructor for over 13 years.

Game development is my passion, and while balancing a full-time job as a lab technician with my creative pursuits is challenging, it’s a journey I cherish.

Thank you for considering my project. I hope Electro Fracture offers something unique, bold, and exciting to players and developers alike.
